August is off to an exciting start for the Pioneers. Our iRacing pro, Graham Bowlin, took 1st and is advancing to the playoffs. Our Apex Legends team made an international appearance in Saudi Arabia and is preparing for another competition in Germany. Brawl Stars is preparing for the World Finals in Germany, as well. We also launched two merchandise lines for fans to show support for the Pioneers. Below are the Pioneers' recent highlights since the last newsletter:

Bowlin Takes 1st Place at Pocono Raceway 

Graham Bowlin and Wyatt Tinsley, the Pioneers eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series drivers, placed 1st and 10th on July 30 at the virtual Pocono Raceway. Bowlin now stands in 6th place and has qualified among the top 20 drivers to advance to the playoffs. Tinsley narrowly missed the playoff qualification, holding the 21st position among the 40 drivers. Their combined efforts place the Pioneers in 8th out of the 20 teams competing this season.

Apex Legends Reflects and Regroups After Esports World Cup in Riyadh

The Pioneers recently competed in the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where the top 40 teams from around the globe faced off in an intense battle. The tournament began on August 1 with the Group Stage, where 40 teams were divided into two groups of 20, each competing in a series of 10 games. The format required the top 9 teams from each group to advance to the Finals, while teams placed 10th to 19th moved to the Last Chance stage. The teams that finished in 20th place were eliminated from the competition.

During the Group Stage, the Pioneers secured 18th place, advancing them to the Last Chance stage. Despite their efforts, the Pioneers were unable to progress further and finished 34th overall among the top 40 global teams. While this result was not what the team had hoped for, they are using it as a learning experience to fuel their determination and focus for future competitions.

The Pioneers remain optimistic as they pivot to the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs in Mannheim, Germany, scheduled from August 29 to September 1. The team is committed to brushing off their performance in Riyadh and is working tirelessly to refine their strategies and skills. With their eyes set on achieving a stronger performance in Germany, the Pioneers are ready to rise to the challenge and prove their mettle on the international stage.

Pioneers Secure Spot in 2024 Brawl Stars World Finals

On July 21, the Pioneers showcased their skills in the highly competitive July North America Monthly Qualifier. The team started strong in the Quarterfinals, taking on Reconic Esports Black and winning 3-1. In a nail-biting Semifinals match, the Pioneers faced Elevate and narrowly lost 2-3, ending their impressive run in the finals. The Pioneers finished the competition in 4th place.

Despite this setback, the Pioneers have secured one of the top 2 spots in North America for the season, earning them a coveted place in the 2024 Brawl Stars World Finals. Their outstanding performance throughout the season allows them to bypass the Last Chance Qualifier, which will take place between August 24-25. This remarkable achievement ensures that the Pioneers will be competing on an international stage later this year.

Inaugural Stateline Showdown Series iRacing Circuit Recap

The Stateline Showdown Series iRacing Circuit, hosted by the Pioneers and presented by the Army National Guard, took place on August 3. A total of 80 drivers competed across four qualifier races to secure a spot in the main event, where 40 drivers raced for a share of the $1,500 prize pool. The event proved to be a successful debut for the Pioneers in iRacing. We would like to thank NASCAR and Kansas Speedway for joining the festivities with promotions and giveaways. For those who missed the Logitech sim wheel that was raffled off during the event, Kansas Speedway has another special giveaway: 4 tickets to the Playoff race on September 29.
